Zatulin Calls to recognize the independence of South Ossetia

First Vice Chairman of State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs Konstantin Zatulin made a proposal to put on the agenda of the beginning of autumn-winter parliamentary session in September issue of recognizing independence of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Republic of Abkhazia.

"I believe that a return to the situation in conflict zones to the treacherous attack on South Ossetia Georgia 7-8 August, is already impossible. This applies both to the hopelessness of further recognition of the territorial integrity of Georgia within the borders of the former Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic, and the format of the peacekeeping operation in South Ossetia, and possibly in Abkhazia ", - Konstantin Zatulin said.

According to the deputy, Georgian attack on Russian peacekeepers in South Ossetia did not allow to count on further cooperation with Georgia in peacemaking. "Our presence in the Caucasus, to ensure peace and security in the region, must now take place directly", - says in the information communication Institute of CIS countries, the director of which is Zatulin.

Konstantin Zatulin also believes that after peace enforcement operations need to create a demilitarized zone on the border with Abkhazia and South Ossetia with Georgia territories width no less than the range of fire long-range artillery installations and "Grad". "Russia should immediately negotiate with the authorities of these republics treaties on military assistance", - the MP adds.

Moreover, he doubted the sincerity of mediation efforts by the United States and some Western countries, "waste not only smiles, but also military assistance to the aggressor".

"Neobektivnost and western bias position is clear. Russia should take note and in no case allow the West to impose on us such "recipes" way out of situations that inspired today's Western media information war against Russia ", - underscores the message the Institute of CIS countries.

MP proposes the establishment of the State Duma parliamentary commission to investigate policies of Georgia in the Caucasus and to send a delegation lower house of parliament to clarify the circumstances in conflict zones.
